The directors of Mokoko Hair Salon in Aberdeen, Julie and Esther, are qualified Modern Apprenticeship Assessors, and all hairdressing training is performed in-house to a very high standard.
Whether you're looking for a new style, a change or re-touch of colour, or a luxury hair treatment, the professional hairdressers at Mokoko can help you to look your best. There is a wide range of colouring techniques and products available, as well as a colour menu, designed and produced by the Mokoko team, to help you choose the right colour design to suit you.
Enjoy a relaxing head massage with your shampoo, as well as complimentary refreshments during your haircut. If your hair is in need of an intensive treatment, you can also request one of the luxury treatments during your visit, costing only £5.
Mokoko offer a range of fantastic deals and discounts, including 20% discount every Tuesday, 10% discount for students and OAPs from Wednesday to Friday, and 'Happy Hour' Fridays, 4-6pm, and Saturdays, 4.30pm-5.30pm, where you can have your hair styled for £15. Hair Consultants
The stylists at Mokoko specialise in colouring, and have created a hair colour menu, with colour designs to suit everyone, including:

- Superstar (perfect for short to mid-length hair)
- Desire (perfect for shorter hair)
- Midnight (perfect for mid to long hair and longer layers)
- Petals (perfect for mid to long hair)
The hair consultants can also help if you are unhappy with your hair colour from another salon, offering a colour correction package. The package includes full hair consultation, any colour removal, full new colour application, a luxury treatment and Matrix professional colour shampoo and conditioner to maintain your hair at home. Finding the right people to do hair and make-up is an important part of every bride's wedding plan - why not let Mokoko's professional and experienced team, led by salon owner Esther, create your perfect wedding day package? Esther has over 21 years' experience with wedding hair and the team offer a range of bespoke wedding packages, including both hair and beauty. The first wedding consultation is completely free, and you will be offered a trial which is charged by the hour. Bring the wedding party for a full try out and a chat, and enjoy the comfort and privacy of Mokoko's lower salon. You can choose whether to go to the salon on the day of the wedding, or have the experienced team come to you.

Mokoko is an absolute find the minute you walk through their door you are treated like a VIP. The whole team makes you feel welcome I have been to many salons in the area and Mokoko is a breath of fresh air you can sit and relax and be pampered in an environment where the staff are so friendly and professional and when you leave you feel and look like a million dollars. I do travel alot but always return to Mokoko to be pampered, and I would highly recommend Mokoko to any one who would like to be that VIP for a day!
I travel from Edinburgh to Aberdeen to visit Mokoko and would not trust my hair to any other salon. Esther and Julie and their colleagues provide an excellent service. They truly are the best of Aberdeen and an asset to the region.
I have been going to Mokoko since moving to Aberdeen in 2007. Whether it is haircolour, highlights, cut, blow dry or beautiy treatment they achieve the unthinkable - MY TRANSFORMATION FROM WALLFLOWER TO GLAMOUR GIRL. I might enter the salon after a stressful day at work, a fight with my boyfriend, sad news from home ... Gladly it does not last long, as staff at Mokoko effortlessly achieve that I "emerge" from the shop with a swing in my step, batteries recharged and able to take the next hurdle life throws at me. I have been going to Mokoko since they opened with just Julie and Esther far too many years ago now to mention. At the time I was a student, but over the years I have had my hair done for my wedding by them, gone through various restyles where I have sat down and asked them to just do something different and just gone in for the usual wash, colour and blow dry. However, one thing has always remained the same and that is the impecabble level of service you get. The stylists and staff are always friendly and helpful and take the time to fully understand what you want from your style at each visit. The salon itself is modern and comfortable and always spotless and I can honestly say I have always walked away from the salon loving my hair cut! I would highly recommend the salon and I for one will never go anaywhere else.
I booked myself in for a haircut at MOKOKO after a friend recommended it. I thought it would just be a normal trip to the hairdresser but was blown away with their service. Not only was everyone so friendly but they took time to listen to what i really wanted from my hair. I received a fantastic treatment and my stylist took the time to advise me and demonstrate how I could achieve my designer style at home. 10/10!!!
I went to Mokoko because of an offer. At first i thought it was a salon for the young ones but the service and staff were excellent and so friendly. Plus, it was the best haircut Iâve ever had; now Iâm there every 6 weeks.
I love my 'spa days' at Mokoko where you are treated like a VIP from the start. Everything, from the selection of refreshments, the range of magazines and the care and attention from the staff leaves both me and my hair feeling wonderful.
