Golf Course
The golf course at Mere Golf & Country Club has been home to the Howard Keel Celebrity-Am NSPCC Classic since 1987.
The golf course was dubbed 'The Wentworth of the North' by Sky Sports Golf Commentator Steve Beddows.
Every inch of the 6817 yard course is impeccably maintained
Facilities include:
- 6 practise bays at the water's edge with floating golf balls
- a two-tier putting green, bunker and pitching area
- an indoor teaching facility offering full video analysis
Golf History
Open Champions James Braid and George Duncan designed the parkland course in 1934 and it opened in 1935 set around the Mere (or lake).
The golf course at Knutsford now provides some of the most challenging holes in professional golf.
Golf Club
Mere Golf & Country Club, Knutsford is a private members club. As such we restrict the number of non-members, societies and events on the course to Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only
The club itself has many golfing and social events throughout the year for members as well as weekly competitions.
Membership of the golf club is fully inclusive of all leisure facilities.
Corporate Golf
Corporate golf days are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Morning and Afternoon packages are available. All corporate golf packages include:
- Coffee & Biscuits on arrival
- A Private Room for use (min 20 guests)
- A 'starter' so all your party "Tee Off" on time
- Up to 6 banners erected around the course
- A manager for the days bar & catering

Membership of the leisure club is available separately to the golf club. The many facilities include
