BANG THE DRUM FOR HOSPICE

Condor Ferries Dragon Boat Racing in aid of Jersey Hospice Care

Albert Pier, Saturday 20th September 2008

Jersey Hospice Care is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year and therefore it is hoped that the  10th Condor Ferries Dragon Boat Race event will be bigger and better than ever.

Dragon Boat Racing is a day-long event (races start at 10 am and finish at 4.30 pm) during which teams take to the water at the Albert Pier in light-weight Chinese style Dragon Boats and row against each other in heats.  A maximum crew of 16 plus a drummer .

Hospice Care makes no charge to its patients and as no grant is received from the States of Jersey, relies entirely on the generosity of the public and the support of local businesses to raise the £5,454 needed daily to operate.

The team that collectively brings the most money on the day for Jersey Hospice Care will automatically be entered into the Grand Final – no matter how they paddle during the day!

The day is aimed at families having a fun day out and we are planning lots of side attractions.   A day out not to be missed

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
