My name is Mohamed Faraji and I am the chief patron of Maghreb Restaurant. I am a classically trained chef with over thirty years training in Moroccan and French cuisine.
The desire to apply this experience to the cuisine I first learnt in Morocco has steadily increased over time.
For the last three years, I have been travelling back and forth between London and my hometown Larache in northern Morocco, picking the brains of family and friends in order to extend my already considerable repertoire of Moroccan and French cuisine.
This passion and enthusiasm is reflected in Mahgreb Moroccan Restaurant and it's exquisite cuisine being raved about by our local regular clientele.
With our fantastic central location in the heart of Upper Street, Maghreb Restaurant is the ideal pre or post theatre place to eat.
The menu offers diners the true richness and diversity of Moroccan cuisine.
Starters include Rarira (A traditional Moroccan soup made with chick peas, tomatoes, coriander, cinnamon, ginger and saffron), Goats cheese Pastilla, Duck Pastille, Hummus, Crab & Prawns Tabbouleh, King Scallops, Grilled Hallounii Cheese, Grilled Merguez Sausages and Mixed Meze.
Main courses naturally feature a wide variety of Tagines (the traditional, slow cooked Moroccan stew): Spicy Fish Tagine, Lamb Tagine with prunes and sesame seeds, Rabbit Tagine, Lentil & Pumpkin Tagine, Kefta Tagine, Duck Tagine, Chicken with olives & preserved lemon Tagine.
