Summer Fete - Friends of Belstead
x
From: 17 May 2008
To: 17 May 2008
Belstead Summer Fete will be held at Belstead House, Sprites Lane, Ipswich

Time : from 2:30 pm.

Here is your chance to stock up on many interesting items such as home-made pickles and preserves, traditional family baking and cakes.

Belstead’s emphasis on creative skills will be amply demonstrated by the sale of exquisite hand-made bead jewellery and a wide range of patchwork gifts and novelties.

And a magnificent patchwork quilt called ‘Ever Decreasing Circles’ which has been made by the children at the local Sprites Primary School will be on display.  After the Fete, this quilt will be submitted for judging to the National Patchwork Championships.

Young and old alike will enjoy competing in traditional rural summer games where you can show the world your skills.

And you could well go home with one of the major prizes to be won in the raffle draw which will take place at 4 pm.

Belstead House has six acres of attractive grounds originally laid out over a hundred years ago when the house was owned by the Quilter family.  With their numerous flowers and trees, extensive lawns and a large pond, the gardens will be open for visitors to explore.

You will be able to take afternoon tea and cakes outside, subject of course to the English weather.

So come along at 2:30 pm on Saturday 17 May and join in this traditional  English country Fete.

Belstead House is a residential centre with accommodation for short-term study breaks as well as being a venue for conference and training work. Owned by Suffolk County Council, Belstead House holds a strong commitment to adult education and provides a substantial variety of subjects and topics to study.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
