GUERNSEY MUSEUM & GALLERIES MONTH
x
From: 09 May 2008
To: 17 May 2008
Guernsey Museums & Galleries are staging a series of special events to mark Museums & Galleries Month. Wallace & Gromit have been enlisted to help promote the programme.

Museums & Galleries Month is being supported by museums, galleries and arts organisations throughout the UK and is organised by the Campaign for Museums. A leaflet has been produced by the Culture & Leisure Department setting out the activities which will be happening in Guernsey, commencing on Liberation Day. This is available from the Information Centre and the Museum sites.

From May 12th, the Museum’s curators will be leading talks and tours at Guernsey Museum. These include some chances to handle ancient objects, ranging from prehistoric tools to pottery and swords. Other events include lectures and Living History performances.

On Saturday May 17th, the Museum will remain open after 5pm as it joins in “Nuit des Musees 2008”. Admission will be free during the evening, when there will be music, curator talks and a screening of “The Wrong Trousers” and “Shaun the Sheep”. This Museums and Galleries Month initiative is possible thanks to Aardman, the BBC and 2entertain.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
