Siam Thai Restaurant and takeaway offers authentic Thai and Laos cuisine in a tranquil and relaxing setting, overlooking picturesque St. Sampson's Harbour in the north of Guernsey.
And when we say authentic, we mean as real as it comes. Only the freshest of ingredients are used by Waree and her team at Siam and many of the speciality dishes are traditionally prepared to ensure a unique Thai food experience.
If you are not sure of your Laos or Thai food, staff can advise you, or you can try one of the set menus, all of which are very reasonably priced.
Specialist dishes at Siam Thai Restaurant include Thai green, red or jungle curry, aromatic Thai and Laos salads, fresh seafood with chilli and sticky rice. Thai favourites, such as Pad Thai and Tom Yam soup are also available.
Eating ranks high on the Thai scale of pleasures, just as it does in Guernsey, and Thai meals are informal affairs. The staple dish is rice, accompanied by a variety of dishes that can be eaten in almost any order and seasoned to taste with several and various condiments, such as fish sauce and chilli peppers.
In a traditional thai meal, there will usually be a soup of some kind, a curry, a steamed or fried dish, a salad and one or more basic sauces.
Desserts may consist of fresh fruit or one of the many traditional Thai sweets.
Thai food varies from region to region, being much hotter in the south, and Waree is keen to help you choose a Laos or Thai meal that will appeal to your own palate.
A small, intimate and friendly Guernsey restaurant, Siam is ideal for celebrations with a difference and offers a very reasonable party menu with a delicious range of traditional Thai dishes, including dessert and coffee.
Siam is open for lunch, dinner and takeaways six days a week.
