'Peace of mind when you need it most.'
Argent Funeral Services in Guernsey will help ease the pressure at a time of great personal distress. When a loved one dies we understand and appreciate that making funeral arrangements and dealing with the practicalities of death can be a very difficult and trying experience.
It is our aim to help ease the burden and guide you through the arrangements and decisions that need to be made to prepare for your loved one's funeral.
Our job as undertakers and funeral directors is to help you choose from the options available and then take responsibility for organising and supplying everything needed for the funeral service. The funeral arrangements can be discussed either in your own home, at our premises, or anywhere convenient to you.
Our undertaker and funeral director services include:
- initial recording of funeral instructions
- liaising with relevant medical, registry and official staff, as necessary or apporpriate
- transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral director's premises
- provision of a coffin
- preparation of the deceased for either cremation or burial
- all necessary funeral arrangements
- transport of the deceased to a cemetery or Le Foulon Crematorium.
Argent Funeral Services offer optional additional services including viewing of the deceased, embalming, release of a death notice, a burial or cremation service or ceremony, flowers and vehicles.
Besides organisation of and preparations for the funeral service itself there are numerous other decisions we can help you with and information we can provide when someone close to you dies including:
- legal formalities
- funeral costs & sourcing financial help if necessary
- deciding between cremation and burial and guiding you through the procedures for each
- registering a death and sorting out death certificates
- death notice wording
- deciding what to do with cremated remains (ashes)
Our booklet, 'What to do when someone dies in Guernsey', published by Argent Funeral Services, provides a brief guide to all the practical matters that need to be dealt with and wil be made available to you.
We work to a strict 'Code of Professional Practice' for funeral directors, providing full information about funeral services, costs, a written estimate of prices and a detailed account.
