Venue: Professor Batho is organising a special event based on accommodation at Durham Castle (founded 1072, a fine example of a motte and bailey castle) and neighbouring colleges to provide en suite accommodation.
Description: This is a unique opportunity to see the context of the prince Bishops. Visits will be paid to Auckland Castle (home of the Bishops), Beamish Open Air Museum, Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Killhope Lead Mining Centre and Washington Old Hall.
