A two-week celebration of music cultures from around the world which are linked together by the joy and passion of brass. Leading national and international artists create performances that will excite, inspire and engage brass lovers, brass novices and music fans alike.

Brass 08 showcases the true diversity, excitement and brilliance of all brass music. Providing brass players with the opportunity to experience and participate in high-profile music events, the festival also encourages collaboration and support between brass musicians and groups.

From Balkan beats to British Brass and everything in between, the festival includes jazz, folk, salsa, soul, classical, carnival, R&B - even the Last Night of the Proms. The contemporary programme is supported by our local brass bands, highlighting the pride this region takes in its heritage, its confidence in the present and the aspirations it has for the future. The festival reaches into the heart of the community and warmly welcomes the rest of the world.

Without a doubt, the best 'public subscription’ band in the world. Steeped in the traditions of the brass band movement, Brighouse and Rastrick are guaranteed to entertain audiences in any setting. Formed in the 1880’s, the band are as popular today as ever, and continue to thrill audiences the length and breadth of the country.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
