Phil not only took my laptop for repair, at a fair price, (where many computer repairers will only deal with desktops,) he was happy to offer advice about virus control, particularly for our teenagers who can inadvertently accept files from friends which are contaminated. When I also mentioned that one of my friends needed help sourcing support for a non-usual database format, he went the extra mile and phoned colleagues who may be able to offer support.

Not just about beds! I have bought unusual canvas pictures, gifts and striking ornaments from Peter at J&Aʼs. Great when you are redecorating and you want to find something eyecatching. He also has a lot of style books for bedroom furniture and lamps, both modern and ranges inspired by the past. There are usually some examples in the showroom - good for browsing on a rainy day!

I have travelled from the other end of the country for several years to see Kathryn for dental hygiene work, that is how good I think she is! My daughter is going to see her now too. IDH have an excellent relationship with my own dentist and they co-operate really well.

TJʼs cafe is worth the short walk from the busy centre of Consett. It has easy parking in the adjacent streets and is perfect for treating yourself to coffee or lunch on the way home from the shopping - or is handy for a quick meeting. The double-fronted cafe is attractive on the inside and the food is good. While you are there you can enquire about catering for birthday parties etc.

Our boisterous Patterdale Terrier Rex LOVES going to Hanging Stone Boarding Kennels for his holidays! We canʼt tell him too soon because he gets unbearably excited! We lost him once - he sneaked out of the house on the morning of our holiday. Ready to panic and wonder if we would catch our flight, we dashed outside to scour the streets for him, only to find him sitting patiently beside the car, waiting to get in! Heʼs certainly a character but he loves to see ʼAuntie Paulaʼ wo always makes sure he comes home with a smile on his face - and yes - he smiles too! We have often recommended Hanging Stone. Thanks to Paula, Julie and the team for saving us the worry about our pet whilst weʼre away.
