'But I am on a diet and have a health regime' Special diets, medication, a trip to your pet's routine vet are all catered for. (Hanging Stone has their own trusty vet too.)

Best Turned Out or very nearly; all animals are brushed daily. (Perhaps not appropriate for the more exotic ones!) A comprehensive grooming service is available in house by a skilled professional for an additional charge.

Safe and Sound in their own quarters, cats and dogs have spacious indoor shelter and large communicating outdoor runs. There is a secure exercise yard where your pet will have undivided attention.  Julia and Stephen Duncan who own Hanging Stone Boarding Kennels live on site.  A well-lit complex with security alarm installed means pet security is taken seriously.

Some more serious stuff Hanging Stone Boarding Kennels near Consett is fully insured; licenced by Derwentside District Council and used by Social Services when a pet needs care at short notice while their owner can't be there.

Our boisterous Patterdale Terrier Rex LOVES going to Hanging Stone Boarding Kennels for his holidays! We canʼt tell him too soon because he gets unbearably excited! We lost him once - he sneaked out of the house on the morning of our holiday. Ready to panic and wonder if we would catch our flight, we dashed outside to scour the streets for him, only to find him sitting patiently beside the car, waiting to get in! Heʼs certainly a character but he loves to see ʼAuntie Paulaʼ wo always makes sure he comes home with a smile on his face - and yes - he smiles too! We have often recommended Hanging Stone. Thanks to Paula, Julie and the team for saving us the worry about our pet whilst weʼre away.

We boarded our cat here a few months ago. Bearing in mind that the cat had reportedly been ʼwildʼ for several years before he ʼadoptedʼ us and this was probably the first time he had been in a cattery, we were apprehensive how heʼd be. Julia took time to coax him to eat with a variety of foods until she won him round. He came home and settled immediately. He behaved as though he hadnʼt been away.
