The Oak Public House is 100 year old former Coaching Inn has made 21st century history following a recent half a million pound make-over. The landmark building in the charming village of Kelsall, just eight miles out of the historic city of Chester, is now an oasis of modern style and traditional comfort. 

 

Step past the fine old timbered Public House exterior into the expansive elegance of the bar lounges, then into the stunning centrepiece, an amazing glass-covered courtyard permitting all year al fresco dining.

The Oak is a superbly appointed, warmly welcoming Public House is a real centre of excellence.  Directors Stephen Cooper and Max Baker, both former banqueting managers at the five-star Chester Grosvenor Hotel, have taken The Oak to a new level, aided by a highly professional team, a first drinks menu, and the finest cuisine.

 

Menu

 

Sample the first-class food and drinks menu, including a wide range of beer and fine wine, and enjoy the finest modern cuisine, with varied dishes from an innovative menu. Go on a convivial gastro adventure with their highly professional team, food philosophers all.

 

Diverse dishes feature on an innovative menu, which benefits from the pub's increasing use of local produce.  The young vibrant Kitchen team is led and inspired by head chef Liam Lang who worked for many years alongside Jamie Oliver.  Liam’s team are able to use home grown produce from the kitchen garden within the grounds, and this is supplemented by produce from local growers.

 

You really do need to taste the delicious Gloucester Old Spot pork and Hereford beef from Cholmondeley Estate, together with a wide range of local cheeses which feature prominently on the menu.  Ten new recruits, The Oak's own chickens, ensure the kitchen has a constant supply of fresh, free range eggs.
