Upton by Chester Golf Club - a fair test for golfers of all levels
When you elect to play at Upton by Chester Golf Club, one of Chester’s finest Golf courses, you will be delighted by the natural landscape and sculpting of this wonderful course. The course offers a fair test to golfers of all levels, including six par three holes.
Located just minutes from Chester’s historic city centre, off the A41 near Chester Zoo, it is a classic parkland course with little room for error off the fairways. All the golf course greens have been reconstructed to USGA Spec during 2002/2005 and now present well guarded targets with many subtle pin positions available.
There are 18 holes measuring 5808 yards par 69, S.S.S 68 with no severe climbs so it is ideal for all who enjoy walking along tree lined fairways. The Golf Club also has a large Putting Green and Club Professional but no driving range.
A short but tight 18 hole golf course with plenty of bunkers and trees to catch you out. If you stay on the fairway you will have no trouble. Greens are tricky, with a slight slope but very true. Overall, a good test of short game and consistency

As a member of another nearby golf club, I played in the Tony Lea Junior open at Upton. The course had come on leaps and bounds since the last time I played it, with the fairways being in particular good condition and therefore making the course look much more presentable than it did on my first visit (winter 2002)
