Old Bridge over the River Aire

Civic Parade and Service to celebrate the Bicentenary of the old bridge.
The Service will take place at the Bridge foot.
This year the festival is themed around bridges, to celebrate the bicentenary of the old bridge over the River Aire in Castleford and the new footbridge, due to open in 2008, designed by award-winning architects McDowell and Beneditti.
The new bridge forms part of the Castleford Project, a community led regeneration scheme, due to be televised by C4 during 2008 and hosted by Grand Design's Kevin McCloud.
