The Glasshoughton Centre for Healthy Living & Leisure in Castleford was opened in 2003 and has continued to grow in popularity with its wide range of adult and childrens activities. The Centre is funded by grants from the national Lottery (75%) and from money raised through the community (25).
The Centre is managed by Derek Stead and local people forming the Glasshoughton Community Forum. Derek is committed to improving the health and education of the local community around Castleford through the activities it offers.
The Glasshoughton Centre for healthy Living in Castleford provides a comprehensive range of adult activities as well as support activities including:
- Karate seniors
- Football, Cricket and Bowls
- Slimming clubs
- Exercise classes for the over 50s
- Yoga
- Arts for all

- Citizens Advice Bureau
