Planning a camping trip this year?  Do you like to get back to nature when you go camping?

Lakeside Leisure Wales provides an idyllic camping site set around 4 acres of formal lake near St Clears, just 9 miles from Carmarthen.  The camp site is also bordered by the delightful River Dewi Fawr.  Registered with the Camping and Caravaning Club, it has clean, basic facilities on a tranquil site.

Camping and Fishing

Relax and watch the swans, sometimes with cygnets, dragon flies and if you're really lucky, you might spot on otter.  Bring your fishing gear and unwind on the banks of the lake, or along the river just by your campsite, fishing for wild brown trout and sewen.  There are pitches for tents or caravans.

Camping and fish 'n chips

All this tranquility to enjoy, and yet amenities are less than a mile away in the small town of St Clears, where you'll find a supermarket, takeaways and restaurants.  There is also a small coffee shop selling snacks on the camping site.

Camping and canoeing

For those who like a little more action, there is canoeing and archery on the lake and plenty of water sports action along the coastal waters of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Camping and exploring

From the campsite, positioned near the south coast of Carmarthenshire, there is so much to explore in both directions.

7 miles of sand awaits you at nearby Pendine Sands.  Dylan Thomas famous boathouse is at the picturesque town of Laugharne, just a few miles down the coast.  From there you can explore the beaches at Amroth, Wiseman's Bridge, Saundersfoot and the delightful harbour town of Tenby.

For families, Folly Farm makes a great day out for younger children with all the animals to see.  Thrill seekers will be fully entertained at Oakwood Theme Park which also has rides for youngsters.

Pembrey has a large coastal country park with cycle routes, a dry ski slope, adventure playgrounds and nearby is the racing circuit.

Carmarthenshire boasts some beautiful gardens including The National Botanic Gardens of Wales with its extensive, stunning domed glass house.  Aberglasney gardens, set around a Jacobean manor house takes you back in time.

Had a very good weekend here. We went for the fishing and canoeing. Kids loved it and canʼt wait until we go back. Very quiet and unspoilt - just the way we like it.

I went to Lakeside last week and had a excellent time. Booked for 3 days but ended up staying for the week. Beautiful natural site. Situated in a very good place, good links to amroth, tenby, carmarthen etc. Owners were very welcoming and helped no end. Evening barbecues a real treat by the lake. Very relaxing surroundings. Would definately return without fail. Cant wait.
