What Happens if you Die without a Will?
The law decides who benefits from your estate. This will in many cases not be how you would have wanted. Your estate does not necessarily go to your spouse and if you are not married to your partner, he or she may not get anything at all. The use of trusts in your Will can protect your estate from care home fees or the effect that re-marriage may have in the distribution of your assets.
