Bury Libraries and Adult Learning Service are looking for have-a-go chefs to take part in a Master Chef competition in a bid to raise the profile of healthy living in the Borough.

Recipes will be original and use locally available and sourced produce.

There are two age groups, the 12-18 and over 19's. Entrants will be short listed on individuality and use of locally produced and sourced ingredients

The competition was officially launched this weekend but there is plenty of time as entry forms can be handed in until July 28. The forms are available in all libraries and learning centres or on the council's website.

Short listed entrants will be notified by the 15th August 2008 specifying the date on which the "Cook  Off " will take place. The Cook Off will be at Bury Adult Learning Centre, 18, The Haymarket, Bury, BL9 0AQ

Entrants for the 12-18 age group will take place during the day and for the 19+ age group this will take place in the evening.

The prizes include a free course of your choice at any of the Bury Adult Learning Centres, book tokens and your designer dish will be immortalised in a cook book available in libraries.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
