Going Bald for Charity - Raises a staggering £1500!
Julie Pritlove's 'Going Bald for Charity' event held last Saturday 31st May, in Starbucks Coffee House, McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, Bridgend has currently raised an amazing £1500 for the charity Women for Women, with money still coming in. The event was a huge success.
This courageous act of shaving all her hair off is all part of Julie's fundraising activities to raise over £3k for the Women for Women Charity, were she will be participating in the Cycle Cuba event this November.
When asked how she felt after loosing her hair - Julie was more concerned about her two young children who had been watching their mum have her head shaved. Julie said "at least now I have the same hairstyle as my husband and as promised, I wore a pink wig for my daughter".
The Women for Women charity is committed to improving serious conditions that can affect women and their babies. They strive to prevent the suffering and preserve the health of families who face devastating problems including cancer, premature birth, brain injury, miscarriage and infertility.
Up to 250 babies dying every week in the UK as a result of complications during pregnancy.
Julie has chosen the Women for Women charity for the work they do and services they provide for women throughout the UK, something she and her family have a close affinity with.
Professor Robert Winston, Chairman of Women for Women and the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust says "Funds raised by Women for Women will support that which we all hold most dear - the birth of a healthy baby - investing in our family's health.
