Lunchtime Organ Recital - Ian Sutcliffe

The autumn series of Wednesday Lunchtime Organ Recitals - this week's guest recitalist is Ian Sutcliffe, a former Cathedral Chorister and now Director of Music at Marlborough Collge

The autumn series of the Cathedral’s Organ Recitals starts on Wednesday 3rd September and continues, every Wednesday at 1.05pm, until 10th December. Paul Bowen, the Cathedral’s Assistant Organist, will be opening and closing the series with the guest recitalists in between coming from as far afield as Edinburgh and London.

Two exciting highlights during the series will be an organ duet, on 1st October, with Christopher Rathbone (Leeds) and Stephen Power (Southwell), and a celebrity recital on 26th November with John Scott Whiteley (York).

No charge is made for admission but there is a collection at the end of the recital to help cover the travelling expenses of visiting recitalists. A light lunch is served from 12.40pm – a minimum donation of £2.50 is requested towards costs. For more details please contact the Cathedral Office on 01274 777720.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
