Put Your Best Foot Forward & Help Local Blind People

Willing volunteers are being asked to put their best foot forward as Queens Guide Cedric Robinson MBE leads walkers across a panoramic 8 mile walk, to raise funds to support Galloway’s Society for the Blind’s work with more than 6,500 blind and partially sighted people across Lancashire.

Queens Guide Cedric celebrates 45 years of Guide during 2008 and is supporting Galloway’s with its major fund-raising event.

People are needed to join in the fun on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August. The walk starts at 11.45am from the pretty picturesque promenade at Arnside near Carnforth taking in some breathtaking Lakeland Views on route before finishing at Kents Bank near Grange three hours later.

Kevin Lonergan, Walk Organiser for Galloway’s said, “We are encouraging as many people as possible to take part. Individuals as well as groups, young and old are needed to make this walk a success. Cedric is a great supporter of Galloway’s and want to wish him well during his 45th anniversary of leading people safely across the sands”.

Proceeds from this years walk will also help to support 4 of our special projects including the talking newspaper, magazine and book services, the provision of specialist equipment, Children and Young people and education and training.

For further information and sponsor forms please contact Kevin at Galloway’s on (01772) 744148, or via email at kevin.lonergan@galloways.org.uk

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
