24 March 2007

One of them, Jennifer Gaff, 24 will be busy on every Saturday running herself ready for April 22.

A Bluebell cheerleader for Southend United, she will be on the Roots Hall Pitch before matches when Southend play at home.
She also visits Upton Park to cheer for the Hammers when she’s home in Plaistow.

Now, her marathon training involves getting ready for the Brentwood half-marathon at the end of March. She works for Thomas Cook, in Billericay High Street. Jennifer said: "I will also be running for the Thomas Cook team which will be raising money for children's charity the Variety Club. This is something that just touched me, helping people less fortunate than myself, and I decided I wanted to do my bit."

Because of her employer's call to volunteer for its marathon-running team, she joined Billericay Striders running club.

"I've been running with them a few times and I also train by running round the Wick since I started training for the marathon in January," the Wickford resident said.

"I've been running anything from three to eight miles at a go and I've found it much harder than I expected - but I'm determined to do all I can for those children."

    What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
