The Edward Alderton theatre of Bexley, which was founded in 1976, is a non-professional performance venue in Bexleyheath. The company for the Theatre, was formed in 1951, and is part of the Adult Education Centre in Bexleyheath.
The Bexley Theatre with its proscenium stage has seating for 74 people. Six shows are staged annually at the Theatre, each running for seven nights from Saturday to Saturday (normally not Sunday), together with occasional one-off special events. All performances start at 8pm.
A fully licensed bar at the Theatre is open from 7.30, is very reasonably priced and drinks can be pre-ordered for the interval. Bexleyheath railway station, on Station Road, is approximately five minutes' walk so you don’t have to worry if you would like a drink. Alternatively there is a free onsite car park available.
This Bexley theatre is open to the public so the local residents of Bexleyheath do not have to travel to the West End for a theatre performance. For parties of ten or more, there is a reduced ticket price, which applies to school parties, and tutors can go free with every ten students. You do not have to be a member to book, but tickets should be paid for in advance whenever possible.
