Restaurants in Bath don’t come any finer than The Dower House where head chefs Mark Brega and Gordon Jones and their brigade work closely to develop the synthesis of innovative cuisine within this rich architectural setting.
The Dower House is The Royal Crescent Hotel's award-winning restaurant and one of the finest restaurants in Bath, if not the finest restaurant and is open to both house guests and non-residents for fine dining.
The menu at The Dower House restaurant changes with the seasons to match the climate and to make best use of the very finest fresh ingredients. The cellar, expertly managed by sommelier Jean Marc Leitao, complements the menus. Click here to view the menu in the restaurant. Click here to view the wine list.
The Dower House is a light and airy restaurant, overlooking the hotel's captivating private gardens. In the summer months, the sunny terrace and manicured lawns make the perfect setting for idyllic al fresco dining. Fine dining outside the restaurant is also possible. A number of individually designed rooms, are available for exclusive use. If you're seeking a very special venue in which to host a family occasion or a business gathering, then look no further than the stunning private rooms of the The Royal Crescent Hotel.
Non residents are welcome in the restaurant for lunch or dinner. However, booking is essential. Breakfast and afternoon teas are also served in The Dower House Restaurant.
"If you’re really treating yourself, you should book yourself a table at The Royal Crescent’s Dower House restaurant. It’s surely the best place to have dinner in the city, with food that is innovative without being gimmicky, an impressive cellar and knowledgeable staff..." The Pink Paper (April 2007)
The restaurant has an entry in the Good Food Guide 2007 for the 26th year, under its previous name, Pimpernel’s, with chef’s cooking described as “refined” and “luxurious”.
