I have known about Freecycle for a couple of years now, my younger sister told me about it because when our father passed away we had perfectly good furniture (in this instance) that we assumed we could get re-housed easily but were sent packing when we approached local recycling/rehousing groups - no proof of fire resistance, mirror or glass door on sideboard could be dangerous, a super dining room suite, table and 6 chairs, chairs had a little seating upholstery - not
guaranteed fireproof.... and white goods forget them completely!!
What a waste, I certainly wouldn't want to offer substandard/faulty belongings, but surely these items as an example have served our Dad well and should avoid the landfill
