Date for Diary - 29th May - Brownhills Community Centre
5th May 2024
... Comments

On Wednesday 29th of May, sadly, it will be the last of this run of poetry events at Brownhills.

After 36 instalments, 30 headliners, 70+ poetic writers and authors, and a sclunch of singer songwriters and musical combos that started in January 2019.

And this month it will be open mic only, so bring your finest spoken word pieces and/or your best listening ears. Drag along your most ardent fans to bright the audience.

The theme, for those who write to a theme:  Toast

But the 29th of May is historically significant…

  • Most crucially for western civilisation, on that date 105 years ago, Charles Strite patented the pop-up toaster.

So please pop-up on Wednesday 29th and share in this extra special, scintillating evening with our great poetic performers.

£3 at the door or pay-as-you-feel, and 50p the raffle tickets. Free self serve tea/coffee. Please email or Facebook-message for a spoken word slot, to spoke@albarz.uk   - Help us be impressed with how organised we can be.
